Article Title:
THE EFFECT OF THERMAL INTERFACE MATERIAL (TIM) ON THERMAL PROPERTIES OF QUARTZ AND MARBLE USING BLOCK METHOD
Abstract: The Block Method for determining thermal properties of Quartz and Marble was examined experimentally. The thermal contact between the Block and the sample is having thermal error which was corrected and reduced by application of Thermal Interface Material to the contact. The results show the thermal conductivity of Quartz to be increased from 1.92W/mk to 2.87W/mk, without and with application of TIM respectively, while that of Marble also increased from 7.0W/mk to 7.51W/mk, also without and with respectively. There is an increase in Thermal diffusivity, Heat flux density and decrease in Volumetric Heat Capacity for the two samples which has been an effect of TIM applied at the interface. |
