DEVELOPMENT OF A PEDAL PRESSURE IRRIGATION PUMP
| Abstract: A pedal pressure irrigation pump has been designed and developed for use in the field of agriculture. It is used to improve both the yield and quality of crops by making water available during the period of less rainfall. It is easy to operate by anybody and does not require any special training. The material needed to designed and construct the machine are available in the market and also at low prices. This machine was designed to ease the difficulties faced by farmers in irrigating their farms and also to provide a machine with low costs and easily affordable. Tests results revealed that this machine can pump at a flow rate of 0.00026m3/s, given the machine efficiency to be 87 percent. This result confirms the functionality of the machine. |
